Repellents

Repellents are effective products to control rodents without killing them. However, as soon as the product is not active anymore, there is a risk that unwanted animals will come back. We provide efficient rodent control through the use of repellents based on calcium carbide and lavender oil. Both are naturally occurring materials.
Products based on calcium carbide are very effective to chase unwanted moles (and voles) from agricultural fields or gardens, etc. Products based on lavender Oil are very effective to chase unwanted moles from gardens, etc.
Both can be used the whole year and safely by the whole range of users, also private people.

Calcium carbide is a greyish mineral (CaC2). The pure material is colourless, however the calcium carbide used as repellent is grey or brown and consist of approx. 80–85% of calcium carbide. The rest is calcium oxide (CaO), calcium phosphide (Ca3P2), calcium sulfide (CaS), calcium nitride (Ca3N2), silicon carbide (SiC)), etc.).
In the presence of moisture – for example in the air or in the soil - the calcium carbide reacts and emits an unpleasant odour reminiscent of garlic. This smell acts as a repellent for the rodents, and they leave the treated area.
Products based on calcium carbide consist of 100% of the above-mentioned mix.

Lavender Oil is a natural active ingredient, which is released by our product slowly, having a repelling effect. The smell is unpleasant for moles and chases them away from their burrows.

Formulation

Detia Vole-Gas

The product contains of 800g/kg calcium carbide as active ingredient and is, depending on the registration in the destination country, packed loose or in small paper bags (5 g). The paper bags let the moisture penetrate through and do not prevent the chemical reaction. There is no hindrance of the gas release.
In presence of humidity from the air or the soil the calcium carbide reacts and emits an unpleasant odour reminiscent of garlic. This smell acts as a repellent for the rodents, and they leave the treated area.

Detia Mole-Free

Our product consists of natural lavender oil 10g/kg, absorbed in cellulose wadding balls. The balls slowly release the lavender smell. This is unpleasant for moles and drives them in a natural way to leave their burrows.

Packaging

250 g/500 g tins with loose product

250 g tins with 50x5 g paper bags

Tins with 100 balls

Application

The products can be safely used on fields, on meadows and lawns, on fruits and vegetables cultures or in ornamental plant farms.

Vole-Gas

Find the location of the moles/voles on your field, and search for their holes.
Use a dibber to open the hole and put 5 g for voles (equivalent to 1 bag) or 20 g for moles (corresponds to 4 bags) per hole. Close the hole afterwards, in order to let the gases release/penetrate the burrows.
After a few hours the rodents should leave their burrows. Should they come back use the product again.

Mole-Free

Cut a slit in the ground with a spade and place a ball into the ground in distances of 1 m. Don't put the balls into the burrows of the moles. Afterwards close the slit.
After a couple of hours the moles should have left their burrows. Upon return repeat the treatment with the product.
