Golden spider beetle

(Niptus hololeucus)

Biology:

The golden spider beetle has a spider-like appearance, like the hump spider beetle. It is 4 to 5 mm long and the dense, golden coat of hairs on its brown body make it look as though it is made of gleaming brass. It is similar to the hump spider beetle in terms of occurrence, development and lifestyle. It also cannot fly and is active at dusk and at night.

Damage:

It causes the same damage as the hump spider beetle.
